Welcome to C3 Mackay
Pastors John & Rose Gilbank
Ephesians 4:11-16 (NKJV)
And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ— from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.
This long sentence from the Bible set the tone for ministry as Pastor Rose and myself launched forward on the pathway the Holy Spirit was opening up before us and the people who would become C3 Church Mackay. To this day it remains our foundational scripture.
C3 Mackay began in July 1988 in an old building that had previously been the cafeteria of a now disused drive-in picture theatre in Mackay. A number of venues followed and on the last Sunday of June 1999 we moved into an old warehouse in Victoria Street. In January 2005, in obedience to God and with his help, we took out a mortgage and purchased that old warehouse and began renovations that would transform it into C3 Church Mackay. Thirteen years later, in December 2018, we celebrated Christmas with that building and everything associated with our church totally debt free. Well done C3 Family!
As we enter 2019 a new chapter of our church is unfolding at an accelerated rate. Approximately three years ago the board of C3 Mackay began discussing and developing a succession plan, a countdown to the time when Pastor Rose and myself resign from our roles as Senior Ministers of C3 Mackay and pass the baton onto God’s next generation of leadership.
If you have been part of our C3 Mackay family for some time, I know you also have witnessed an increase in God’s leadership anointing on Pastor Beaudean and Pastor Deneisha as He prepares them to lead C3 Mackay into its prophetic destiny. God’s call on their lives being confirmed prophetically by all our visiting ministry in 2017 and 2018. It was also confirmed by Pastor Phil Pringle at a special minister’s day in February this year.
Why is this important?
Because this is not a business that you hand onto someone in your family. The husband and wife stepping into the position have to know they are anointed and appointed by God to do so. When announced to our incredible leadership team there was a positive unanimous response. That being the case, I can announce that Pastors Beaudean and Deneisha will be officially installed in their new roles of Senior Ministers of C3 Mackay and in the second half of 2020.
For Pastor Rose and I to be able to pass on the responsibility for C3 Mackay, to our son and his wife, two people raised in this church who quite obviously have the hand of God on their lives, is both an honour and a privilege.
May I also say, Pastors Beaudean and Deneisha are not called to duplicate Pastor Rose and I. God is calling them to bring something fresh and new. God’s vision for C3 doesn’t change but how it’s implemented as the church moves forward under new leadership will enable it to remain relevant in this, the 21 century.
May the presence and the power of the Holy Spirit and the love of our Lord Jesus be with you all.
